The Wine Makers
Adopting a Bordeaux winemaking style Viticulturalist Andrew Chitty oversees
the growing and tasting of Narrakines Wines. During 2006 Narrakine crushed
28 tonnes of grapes (20 tonnes of Shiraz and 8 tonnes of Chardonnay).
Following
award winning Shiraz vintages in 2003-2004, the 2005 vintage was very
exciting for Narrakine as we produced a Rośe named Rosie and a sparkling
Shiraz Ruby using the traditional bottle fermentation method.
Our premium 2006 Shiraz has just been released after maturation in oak
barriques. 2006 was an exceptional vintage with an unusually mild summer
enabling longer ripening periods and intense fruit flavours.
Handpicking each of our vintages has proved quite an undertaking with
the 2006 crop yielding 28 tonnes.
. We have just released our first vintage of sparkling chardonnay made using the traditional champagne method.
Wignalls Winery provide our
contract winemaking and bottling.
